… to initiate a conversation with your audience. At the very least, make some point of contact and let the chips fall where they may. Why, you ask? Its really three-fold.

  • Its just another opportunity to engage in conversation with your audience.
  • If done right, you could encourage blog RSS subscriptions, a very good thing.
  • Your helping encourage more comments which helps you in the end too.

My quick tip? Shoot your audience an email, as a new commenter, and thanking them for the comment and encouraging them to subscribe to your blog, with a link to sign-up. Its just another opportunity to engage them, encourage action, and get them hooked :-)
